I Love Children

WARNING: I don't have any photos to post tonight.  I went to dinner at a friend's house and you've already seen a photo of his frog toilet.  But I thought I should post since so many people can't make it through the day without my posts.

Remember when I was probably 8 or so and I dropped a glass in the kitchen and I started bawling and I was like "I NEVER do ANYTHING right!"?  Well, I had been having that feeling at work lately...not that I have been doing things wrong; I just feel inept in general.  Actually today I even dropped my safety goggles in a vat of coating fluid that immediately started eating away my safety goggles.  But then, lo and behold, in the afternoon everyone was trying to figure out the best way to denote pedestrian walkways vs. areas where shipping packages should be placed, and I came up with a great plan involving stencils and paint.  Of course, that's the kind of thing I love, so I took charge of the situation (to some extent), and in the end everything turned out pretty good.

After work I went to a dinner party.  I shall mention first and foremost that there was bacon-wrapped asparagus.  Why did I never think of that?  It's beautiful and delicious.  Moreover, there was potato salad, fried dumplings, and fried chicken.  It was like heaven took a jackhammer to a street paved with gold and turned the gold chunks into earth-food.

Moreover, there were children at the dinner party!  A little boy who is 2 and a little girl who is 5.  They were absolutely adorable.  They took a while to warm up to me though.  I had to run over the little boy with a car a few times.  BY WHICH I MEAN a toy car we were playing with--I ran it into his feet and then up his legs and arms.  Then he started laughing.  I didn't run over him with a REAL car.  You people are crazy.  Of COURSE this made me miss my own children even more, but it was so much fun to play with the kids, and their parents are really nice and fun people.  I look forward to hanging out with them even more!  In fact I'm probably having lunch with the father tomorrow!

Other than all that, I tried vehemently to take pictures of all the "security" cameras around town to show you that I'm not just being paranoid (re: yesterday's blog), but oddly enough the entire town had to take a commercial break so I didn't get the photos I wanted.  I'll prove it to you soon though.  It'll be the last thing I do before accidentally driving off that commute cliff I keep talking about.
